Terrific introduction to golf |
On a Monday night up to 30 women and men are being introduced to golf! Monday night 6's are a great way to learn how to play. A number of our ladies welcome and encourage those attending and after play there is always a popular social time. A number introduced to golf through 6's then move on to become valued members of our Club. Special thanks to all those involved in organising this initiative that is well promoted through Facebook thanks to the sponsored advertising from Sophie Preen of Miss Timaru. |

Ladies Club Captain News

6's Great turn out last week-25 enthusiastic golfers. Best Nett this week over six holes. Again Ange will keep your scores. It was great to have Willie to do a wee lesson on chipping which I believe he followed up on an email. If you missed the email let me know as it means he doesn't have it. Pitching is the focus this week and we have a new one on the team, Carol Rodden. 18 Holers Welcome to Chris Turnbull who played her first 18 holes with us coming through the 6's. Great to have Ginny our last years champion also play with us. Those who played with her found her input to their games extremely helpful. Also it was good to have Trish, a 9 holer who joined Lynda and Lois. Tournament is this Thursday please all bring a small plate and a raffle. It is National Teams qualifier this week. Best four Netts of the day go into a team and play in the National Teams tournament which is held in May on our course. $3.00 entry. Those who don't wish to play in it will play a putting and Stableford round. Mt Nessing TripAt this stage it seems to be all go but we are now going Thursday 12 March with the intention of having lunch at the Albury Pub afterwards. Put your name up and any queries Catherine W is your go to lady . Susan, House, Kath and Miriam were 8th (tied 6th) at Geraldine. 104 players . Good luck for Vets and Silver pennant on Monday Cath Preen - Club Captain |

The Kath & Russell Show |
Twilight Golf On Thursday nights up to 100 players are on our course enjoying an ambrose competition. Teams of 3-6 players play 9 holes before enjoying a time in our clubhouse. Organised by Russell Crossan and Kath McCreanor the fun on the course and the fun in the clubhouse is enjoyed by all who take part. There is always lots of great banter and the drawing of the raffles prove a popular way to conclude the night. Crusher and Kath do a terrific job of promoting our Club and raising valuable funds. If you don't have a team you are still very welcome and Crusher or Kath will find a team for you to join. This format is suitable to players of all abilities. Play gets underway on Thursday's starting from 5pm. Come out and join in the fun! |
