7 September 2021

To: All Golf Clubs, Courses and Facilities (outside of Auckland)
CC: District Associations

Good afternoon all,

Golf and Alert Level 2

We can confirm that Golf is a permitted activity at Alert Level 2.

The Government has still yet to confirm the official guidance and rules for sport and recreation at Alert Level 2. We have now been told that, contrary to earlier advice, this will now not happen until tomorrow.

Please therefore see below a link to our guidance for golf at Alert Level 2 which will be updated (if needed) after the final rules are set by government.

We are publishing this now with a high degree of certainty around the guidance and with a view to helping clubs and facilities plan for operations over the next few days.

Advice for Golf Clubs and Facilities at Alert Level 2
While golf is a permitted activity at Alert Level 2, we advise clubs and facilities to take a cautious approach. The number one priority should be the health, safety and wellbeing of your staff, members, golf participants and the wider community. Golf clubs, facilities and golfers must take appropriate steps to make sure they minimise the risk of infection from the COVID-19 virus.

Please see the attached document for the Guidance for Golf Clubs and Facilities at Alert Level 2 as at 7 September 2021. These guidelines should be used until any further notice is issued.

Please be in touch if you have any queries.

Nga mihi,

Dean Murphy
