...and finally
Short and sweet this week, as I can feel the marrow in my bones rusting.

Honestly, when I signed up for Pennants, I had no idea I would be paying penance for some major crime I must have committed in a previous life

I seriously hope I got away with it, and that it was worth it - some kind of Oceans 11 style heist, lots of fun and lucrative without any of the unnecessary unpleasantness.

Today, we had the "pleasure" of playing against Ashburton (congrats to them on their victory today), who were a great bunch of guys, and who were about as downhearted as we were with the cold, wind, rain and general misery that hung over a perfectly fine golf course

I am still trying to thaw out, despite wearing enough layers of clothing to make me resemble the human equivalent of an onion.  If you take the 7 layers of skin we all have (theoretically, this is supposed to make us waterproof which is a laugh in itself), plus the 4 extra layers I had on, plus hand warmers, two hats, two pairs of trousers  (plus pants - and yes I do mean underpants), then I should have been more than capable of surviving the worst Antarctic blizzard in all of history, and yet I struggled around Methven.

In my defense, I was also trying to hold onto and swing a golf club with some semblance of control (as if), and all this does is support my previously voiced opinion that golf should always, ALWAYS, be a summer sport!!!

I am off to curl up by the fire

Stay safe, play well, and above all else, stay warm

Steve
