An Introduction
Hello
 
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Steve Compton, and I have given myself the challenging task of attempting to fill Ian's Cavernous Club Secretarial Shoes, in the vain aspiration of getting somewhere close to achieving his levels of commitment and effort (I will take this opportunity to thank him and Kerrie for all of their efforts and for a remarkably comprehensive handover).
 
While I draw the line at actually living at the golf course (unless the good lady pharmacist, her indoors, finally gets tired of me, or until she realises that she did, actually, marry a pohm), I do promise to do my best for you all, but please bear with me as I get used to the role.
 
Technically, this is currently an appointed position, but I will be standing for the post at the upcoming AGM. My manifesto will be simple - being the only bugger prepared to do it.
 
Of course, I may be incorrect in this assumption, and should any of you have an unfulfilled burning desire to take this post on, please let the committee know, I am sure there would be plenty of other ways we can all help our club.
 
Finally, in a world where 180 degree appraisals are positively encouraged, should you have any negative feedback, please feel free to keep this to yourself. Otherwise any words of encouragement or advice will be gratefully received.
