Gardens Susans hand is out of action hence the gardens have taken off out of control, with no one looking after them. This shows us what a great job she does. Also I believe Morna and Lynne also look after areas. Bring your own gloves and wee tools that you would normally use at home and together we will have fun gardening. Many gardening hands make light work and fun times.

....and finally
Well what a week that was, it is strange to think that about a year ago, reports were just about to start coming out of China about a highly infectious virus that would presage the pandemic that has since impacted on all of our lives, none more so than the hundreds of thousands of people who have died from the disease and the families that they left behind.

Over the intervening period, the world has changed faster than the majority of us could have ever contemplated, leaving us to take stock of how lucky we all are, particularly as we live here in New Zealand.

It has been hard on everyone, there is no doubt, but as a country, New Zealand has had it relatively "easy", able to stand on the sidelines almost, and watch as the rest of the planet struggle with a new, unrelenting, merciless foe which cared not a fig for who it touched and who it destroyed.

The political events of the last couple of weeks, however, have left me me with the feeling that there is at least a hint of light at the end of the tunnel, whether you agree with the political victors or not, the idea that people can come together to solve problems regardless of their differences seems almost fresh and invigorating.  Which is bloody ridiculous when you think about it.

I am just going to add at this point, that this is not a rallying call for more volunteers to help out - although we do still need a permanent Treasurer - priorities and all that.

So, sorry to be quite so maudlin, but as none of you supplied any more light-hearted stories from the last couple of weeks, and I am still house-bound and clearly need to bin my phone, you have left me starved of material!!

I hope you all have a good week

Stay safe, and play well

All the best

Steve
