...and finally
It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you all of the sad passing of a club stalwart.

Long serving; diligent; never complaining despite near constant pressure and utterly reliable; a part of the very fabric of the club.

Instantly recognisable, they would admittedly cause the occasional eyebrow to be raised by making inappropriate noises at just the wrong time.

I am, of course, referring to Dexter's Golf trolley.

No more will the collection of clanking nuts and bolts ring out across the fairways.  No longer will it sound as though Dexter has hired Jacob Marley as a Caddie (if you don't know who that is, read "A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and I hold no hope for you)

With all the loyalty of your average sugar daddy, it has been tossed aside for a younger, flashier model, with a bit of extra padding in the right places of course.

Of course, we now have to watch out for Dexter sneaking up behind us like some sort of golfing ninja. I'd recommend some sort of flag system, or maybe flares, but this could prove too distracting, so thank goodness for bright shirts.

I must admit to holding some responsibility for this sudden change, having made a passing comment after playing a somewhat deafening round with Dexter a week or so ago.

Little did I know the outcome of such an innocent remark.

Certainly I didn't know that the item of my scorn would be destined for either the dump, or the back of a shed to be hidden until discovered many years from now, rusting away, stiff, unmoving - forgotten.

So let us all lament the passing of a legend, and remember the steadfast service this cherished servant provided to it's Owner.

May it Rust in Pieces.

Blimey, all that for that?

Stay safe and play well

Steve
