For me, the worst part of playing golf, by far, has always been hitting the ball.

Moore Golf
Willie Moore is our Head Professional who runs our Pro-Shop.

Willie undertook a PGA Traineeship while living in Melbourne before returning to New Zealand in 2014 and transferred his membership with the Australian PGA to the New Zealand PGA. He began working as the Head Teaching Professional at The Hills Golf Course in Arrowtown, before a year later moving back to his home town of Cromwell and set up his own business where he could put more time into helping people enjoy playing golf. Moore Golf opened here in Timaru on July 6th and is a great addition to the club.

Pro-Shop

If you’re a new player or an experienced golfer, our golf pro shop has something for you. It is fully stocked with a range of golf equipment and accessories. This includes balls, tees, accessories, clubs, clothing, footwear, hats, bags, trundlers and GPS.

The Pro Shop also has a range of snacks and refreshments to help you keep up your energy on the course.

We have 4 Golf Carts available to hire along with plenty of hire trundlers. Also available are quality sets of Hire Clubs.

Call the Pro-Shop to make a booking.

Gift vouchers also available.

Practice Area

We have a large grass practice area which is the perfect place to work on your golf game, or simply have a hit with your mates. Range balls are available for purchase at the Pro-Shop during opening hours.

Golf Lessons

Willie offers coaching in private or group situations for juniors (18 years & under) and adults from beginner to advanced level. Single lessons or package deals are available and each session generally lasts between ½ hour – 1 hour in duration.
A golf lesson with Moore Golf aims to help you enhance your skills, lower your score and have more fun. Areas of coaching include full swing analysis and development, pitching drills and techniques, short game areas (high & low shots, over bunkers, out of thick rough, bunker play) and putting (technique, long and short putts, distance controls)

Call the Pro-Shop on 036882012 or call in to see Jonny in the shop to make a booking.

Club Fitting

Investing in your first set of clubs or a new driver is exciting and many people purchase clubs from their local retailer without realising the importance of having clubs that suit them. Custom golf club fitting improves your game by creating custom golf clubs that are built for your specific swing and style of play.

At Moore Golf, you will be custom fitted by Willie Moore’s expertise and analysed using Flightscope Technology. Flightscope Technology is one of the world’s leading golf launch monitor, it provides an actual measurement of balls and clubs and quantitative data on player and equipment performance.
