6, 9 & 18 Hole |

6, 9 & 18 Holers Gobbler sheet is up so when you have the thrill of achieving one of these put your name up and your partner to initial it. A Gobbler is a chip into the hole from off the green.
PREEN Par 3 sheet is up. Any nett 2 that you have on any par three please record and get your partner to initial. Both fun competitions will be drawn at a Pot Luck dinner on Thursday 11 June. Both competitions open to any who play on the Timaru course however there will only be one draw for those who are not members of our club. Several for those who are members. Thanks Rosie the sheets look fab. Waitangi Association Tournament - Kerrie flew our flag returning with 36 Stablefords but unfortunately no one else scored well to support her. Tinwald won. Our fundraiser Housewalk / Garden is on Sunday March 29. Please mark the date in your diary. We have some great houses and gardens which are all different so there is something for everyone and at most houses there is some activity be it food tasting, plants, chutneys ,spices ,artwork, music, Devonshire Teas or even a look at how a modern cowshed operates. Something for everyone. Tickets are about to become available but spread the word and organise a car load to have a fun day out. Organise your friends now we need your support. The mirrors in the ladies look fabulous, thanks Lynne and Catherine. In fact House you have made a great job - fresh, clean and a pleasure to walk into. 18 Holers Opening Day was successful and just lucky we managed to skirt around the rain. Thank you for bringing visitors and your plates of yummy food, much appreciated. Twenty plus people which made for a buzzy friendly clubhouse. Remember to get your card out and leave it in the pro shop where you will pay your money. Draw will be done from pro shop. Geraldine Tournament is on Thursday February 20th Lois is keen so it would be good to put a team together .It's good to support other clubs and then they support us. Entry sheets are up for our club foursome, 4BBB and singles knockout. Find a partner and enter. Be good if some of you might ask our younger new members to be your partner. Our tournament is fast approaching. Put a team in or your names on the sheet and I will organise you into a team. Start and bring raffle items and place like usual, in the office. Refer to last weeks newsletter re what our competitions stand for this week. Thank you Noeline for running the Barbara Angus Trophy over the summer months. 6'S Ange is unfortunately out of action and has done her achilles. She will be missed at sixes ( also at Silver Pennant ) but her competition set up starts regardless this Monday. It's a putting competition. Count your putts on the first six holes and hand your card into one of the team and Ange will quietly in her free time (as she will have plenty ) record results and get some winners at the end of the season. Morna, Wendy and Lois are your team this week. Im at Queen!!! Cheers Cath |

Golf Quote of the week
|
“True sportsmanship is… Knowing that you need your opponent because without him or her, there is no game. Acknowledging that your opponent holds the same deep-rooted aspirations and expectations as you. Knowing that, win or lose, you will walk off the course with pride. Always taking the high road. And always, always, always being a good sport.” -Lorii Myers |
