Dear Guest, Sunday, 16 February, 2020

Thanks to our many volunteers
Allow images
Our Club survives thanks to the great work of volunteers.
Our Greens team do a superb job throughout the year maintaining our course at a level we can be very proud of.
Early in the morning while many of you will still be in bed the mowers are on our greens ensuring we can enjoy consistent putting for the days play. Then during the day our tee blocks and fairways are mown. Then there are the bunkers being fluffed up and the weedeaters are out trimming around sprinkler heads and tee signs and trees. There is always something being developed or maintained.
Thanks to Susan and helpers for the maintenance of our garden plots and clubhouse surrounds.
Fred is busy behind the scenes stocking the bar, cleaning the toilets, and making sure all is ready in the Clubhouse so you can enjoy when you arrive.
Our nine holer men are out each Thursday doing a wonderful job of trimming back trees and removing rubbish from around the course.
Our Club Captains and Match Committee prepare the competitions and collate the results and organise the pennants teams and game days.
Our President, Treasurer, Secretary and Club Committee are voluntary positions.
The organisers of our fundraisers and tournaments put in substantial hours to guarantee success.
We have a Club to be proud of.
Big thanks to everyone who contributes in so many ways as a volunteer.
Please consider how can you offer your skills and time to contribute to the ongoing success of our Club.

Ladies Golf

6,9,18 Holers

Coring is to commence if all goes to plan in the second week of March. Whoop whoop what an opportunity. We have planned a day trip for all the 6, 9 and 18 holers to combine and we will go to Mt Nessing Golf Club on Tuesday March 10. Mark it in your diary and if you usually work on that day hopefully you have plenty of time to change it and come. Love to even have the weekenders with us. The day is full of lunch, fun and plenty of activities. Even if you don't play golf you are very welcome, all the more the merrier. Catherine W is chief convenor and has put a list up in the clubhouse. If interested put your name up. It will be an uplifting day. Exciting, I've never played there.

It was great to have Lyn Crossan join us on Tuesday and drop off after nine. Hopefully more 9 holers will do that as its good to see different faces plus its good for all our golf. It will be even more successful if more of you come so when you drop off you can continue on for a coffee or chat.

Sadie our cleaning ladies this week are Verna and Vicki. Your cleaning help is invaluable. Mrs Hoover asked house for a pay rise last week!! Turned down.

Nett 2's and Gobblers are up. Don't forget to put your name up every time you have one. Its pleasing to see names are up already.

Two teams are entered in the Gera Tournament on Thursday 20. Lois, Carol, Lynne, Morna Miriam, Kath, House, Susan. Good luck

Summer - The Barbara Angus Tapestry ( Best 3/6 Stablefords) was won by Susan,107 and closely contested by Miriam and Wendy both on 106.

Sharon and I with four of the men had a defibrillator lesson on Tuesday. Hopefully we won't need to put our skills into action but if on the course you do need to use it phone the proshop (0368820210 ) and Darryl will bring it straight out as time is imperative. Log that number in your cell phones if you have one.

6's

Coaching this week will be Chipping. Morna and I have new help this week, Gill Barratt. Thanks Gill. Competition is your Gross score on the first six holes. If Ange feels ok she we will be there and will take your cards otherwise we will get them to her.

As requested, by you, the pro shop will remain open until 5.30pm so if you want this to continue make sure you visit it and use it.

Good Golfing

Cheers Cath
