Half Yearly Report from the Club President

Six Month Report

What a hectic six months it has been. Significant changes in our catering staff and pro has created some challenges. Fortunately we have a great leadership team who have dug deep and we are through the changes.

Please support the new caterer. It’s the age old saying use it or you loose it.

The course is in great condition. Through word of mouth and playing experience our players numbers are up month on month. During the last fortnight I have played Wanaka, Pegasus and Shirley. Our course is right up there and something to very proud of. Our greens and bunkers rate extremely well. Our thanks to the green team. An outstanding job well done in wet winter conditions.

We have pricing for building a new implement shed and new cart shed. Applications are being prepared to seek support and funding from various sponsoring charities. Our application to the Aoraki Trust is very important. The upcoming Ladies Interprovincial Tournament in December is a significant endorsement of our course and I hope supports our application. If you know a Trustee please emphasize that we have all worked very hard to bring our course up to a standard that has the endorsement of NZ Golf for this “ tier one “ national tournament.

We have had an excellent response to the golf cart survey. To date seven members have agreed to invest $2000.00 each up front, for a space in the new shed and three members have indicated they will donate a cart for the club to use as per the cart survey

Over the last six month we have been progressive with governance issues. We have adopted a new code of conduct, complaints procedure and roles and responsibilities rules. All members of the Committee have been active and progressive.

On July 17th Peter Hayes commences as our new pro. Peter is very progress visible pro and we welcome him to Levels.

New carpet has been laid in the ladies “dressing room” Very smart and a good impression for the December Tournament

This Saturday the senior golf championship final is being played. Tim and Travis play at 9.30am

Good luck to both

Good golfing and congratulations to the various Club Champions. Presentations this Saturday
