Update from the President
I walked most of the course on Wednesday and was impressed how everything has recovered and is recovering from the winter. It’s going to be in great shape for the spring/summer tournaments we have scheduled.

Our tournament has been postponed until the 6th and 7th November 2021.

This is a good call as we don’t have certainty until next Monday when the government will announce whether we come out of level 3 and what level 2 rules might look like.

NZ Golf will send out clarification on playing golf in level 2. Please take some time to understand the relevant rules and guidelines. We have all been frustrated by the process but it is what it is.

The other good reason for postponing the tournament was our entries were down. This was entirely due to the uncertainty of playing while in lock down. The new dates give us time for everyone to plan their summer golf

Some excellent news to share. The committee has met (virtually) and agreed to push on with the new implement storage shed and new cart shed. We have received some funding from charities with more strong applications lodged. This has given us confidence to proceed. We needed to lodge orders to ensure we were in the pipeline. The covid related restrictions on material supplies has meant that an order lodged now can not be fulfilled until January 2022. We can lodge consents, prepare ground work , concrete pads, and get ready for the sheds but it will be 2022 before anything is built
